Research in the Campion Group

Special Laboratory Facilities Or Capabilities:
Ultrahigh vacuum surface science chambers variously equipped with low-energy electron diffraction, Auger electron spectroscopy, ion scattering spectroscopy, secondary ion mass spectrometry, high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy, thermal desorption spectroscopy and (unique to our research group) surface Raman spectroscopy.
Conventional Raman spectroscopy with excitation wavelengths from 350-850 nm.

Current research focuses on:

Charge-Transfer Resonance Raman Scattering
Excitation profiling around the electronic excitational resonance of pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) to metal charge-transfer (Me = Cu, Ag, Au). Involves both electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) and CT-SERRS.
