Welcome!
Welcome to the website of the Browning Research Group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry  at the University of Texas at Austin.

Our research is in the area of initiation of protein synthesis in plants.  We study the early stages in the initiation process when a mRNA is selected and prepared to bind to ribosomes.  We use wheat germ and Arabidopisis thaliana as model systems.
