Welch Summer Scholar Program

The objective of this project was to create dynamics simulations of molecular interactions using Silicon Graphics computers. Movies were produced on two SGI workstations using HyperChem, a molecular modeling and simulation program. Over the course of five weeks, four original movies were produced, and previously created movies were modified and reworked. All of the movies created were converted to Macintosh, Windows, and UNIX file formats and transferred to CD-ROM storage format. In addition, a World Wide Web page was created for users to view MPEG versions of the movies online over the Internet. The movies produced will be used for presentations and demonstrations in Dr. Brent Iverson's 610A and 610B Organic Chemistry classes at The University of Texas at Austin.
